2.    Owner’s Responsibility & Disclosures

2.1.        Health & Medical Conditions

Owners must disclose any existing health or medical conditions—including zoonotic illnesses, flea or tick infestations, chronic conditions, recent injuries, surgeries, and current medications—at least 24 hours before the Grooming Session. Failure to provide complete information may result in refusal of service. Allsorts Pet Hub staff are not licensed veterinarians and cannot diagnose or treat beyond routine grooming.

2.2.        Known Behavioural Issues

Owners must disclose any known behavioural concerns—including aggression, anxiety, or adverse reactions to grooming—at least 24 hours before the Grooming Session. Upon disclosure, the Groomer and Owner will agree on necessary safety measures to achieve a reasonable grooming outcome. Should the Groomer determine that the safety concerns are unmanageable Allsorts Pet Hub reserves the right to refuse service. Further undisclosed behavioural issues may lead to service refusal or termination of the grooming service.

2.3.        Senior & Special Needs Pets

Owners must disclose any senior status or special needs conditions—including arthritis, cognitive decline, mobility limitations, or sensory impairments—at least 24 hours before the Grooming Session. The Groomer will consult with the Owner to determine appropriate accommodations or modified procedures. Should the Groomer determine that the Allsorts Pet Hub is unable to accommodate the pets needs the business reserves the right to refuse service. Further failure to disclose may result in refusal or inability to provide appropriate care.

2.4.        Dogs in Heat

Owners must disclose if their dog is in heat (estrus) at least 24 hours before the scheduled Grooming Session. Because heat cycles pose hygiene and safety concerns, Allsorts Pet Hub will refuse service to any dog in heat and require the Owner to reschedule the appointment once the cycle has fully concluded. Failure to disclose a dog’s heat status may result in refusal of service or inability to provide care, and any applicable cancellation or rescheduling fees will apply.

3.     Styles & Services

3.1.        Matting

Owners acknowledge that heavy matting may conceal pre-existing skin issues and that dematting carries a risk of skin irritation or accidental nicks. Additional dematting fees will apply based on severity. Owners understand and accept this risk.

3.2.        Double Coats

Owners of double-coated breeds acknowledge that removing their insulating undercoat can compromise thermoregulation, increase skin irritation, and cause uneven regrowth; accordingly, Allsorts Pet Hub will not perform any service that removes the undercoat, and if the Groomer determines undercoat removal is necessary for the pet’s health or comfort, the Owner will be advised to seek a specialist grooming provider equipped to safely perform such procedures.

3.3.        Short Shaves

Owners acknowledge that short shaves—using clipper blades set to a length shorter than 6 mm—carry potential risks, including sunburn, skin irritation, ingrown hairs, and increased sensitivity to temperature changes. Owners further understand that regrowth of a short-shaved coat may differ from the original coat in colour (often appearing darker, lighter, or blotchy), texture (coarser or wirier), and may grow back unevenly or patchy. Allsorts Pet Hub will perform short-shave services only upon explicit Owner request after fully explaining these potential effects. Owners understand and accept these risks.

3.4.        Colouring & Dyes

Owners acknowledge that Colouring & Dyes results vary with coat colour and condition. Permanent dyes may last a full growth cycle and semi-permanent dyes may persist beyond six washes. Owners confirm they have clearly communicated their Colouring & Dyes requests and accept that exact shade, fade rate, and longevity cannot be guaranteed.

4.   Groomer’s Rights & Responsibilities

4.1.        Safety

Allsorts Pet Hub staff prioritize the safety of employees, customers, visitors, and the animals in our care. If at any point a situation arises that could compromise safety—such as escalating behaviour, medical emergencies, equipment malfunction, or environmental hazards—the grooming session will be terminated immediately. Staff will make reasonable efforts to notify the owner and will secure the animal in a safe, supervised area until collection.

4.2.        Emergency Care

Allsorts Pet Hub will make reasonable efforts to contact the owner before, or as soon as practicable after, obtaining emergency veterinary care.

4.3.        Right to Refuse or Discontinue Service

Allsorts Pet Hub reserves the right to refuse or discontinue any grooming service at its sole discretion for reasons including, but not limited to:

  • failure to disclose health or medical conditions

  • undisclosed behavioural concerns

  • senior or special needs beyond our capacity

  • severe coat matting requiring extra care

  • any situation that compromises the safety of staff, customers, visitors, or animals

  • owner non-compliance with staff instructions

  • emergencies requiring immediate medical attention

If service is refused or discontinued, owners remain responsible for all charges incurred up to that point, including appointment fees and any additional costs for work performed or resources reserved. Owners agree to indemnify and hold Allsorts Pet Hub harmless from any liability, loss, or expense arising from refusal or discontinuation of service.

5.   Appointment & Financial Policies

5.1.        Pricing & Estimates

Owners will receive an initial service estimate at booking or at least 24 hours before the scheduled appointment, based on the pet’s size, coat condition, behavioural profile, and requested services. Because the true scope of work may only become apparent during grooming, Allsorts Pet Hub reserves the right to apply additional charges for factors including, but not limited to:

  • severe matting requiring extra time and specialized dematting techniques

  • behavioural interventions or handling challenges

  • senior or special needs accommodations and modified procedures

  • creative dye or styling requests beyond standard service parameters

Final pricing will reflect the actual services performed. Owners remain responsible for all charges incurred, including any difference between the initial estimate and the final invoice, and agree to pay all fees upon completion of the appointment.

5.2.        Cancellation & Rescheduling

Owners may cancel or reschedule a grooming appointment in person or via email without penalty if notice is given at least 24 hours before the scheduled time.

  • Late cancellations (less than 24 hours’ notice) will forfeit any deposit paid.

  • No-shows will forfeit any deposit covering the full estimated service fee.

  • Repeated late cancellations or no-shows may result in the requirement of full prepayment or a non-refundable deposit before acceptance of any future bookings.

Allsorts Pet Hub reserves the right to waive or adjust forfeitures or prepayment requirements in exceptional circumstances at its sole discretion.

Owners agree to any applicable forfeitures or prepayment terms upon cancellation, rescheduling, or failure to attend.

5.3.        Late Arrival

Owners must arrive on time for their scheduled grooming appointment. Allsorts Pet Hub will wait up to 15 minutes past the scheduled start time. If an owner arrives more than 15 minutes late, Allsorts Pet Hub reserves the right to:

  • Treat the appointment as a late cancellation, resulting in forfeiture of any deposit.

  • Reschedule the appointment to the next available slot based on staff availability.

  • Refuse to commence or complete the service if the remaining time is insufficient to achieve a reasonable result.

Owners agree that late arrivals may lead to loss of the originally scheduled appointment and remain responsible for any forfeited deposit or additional charges arising from rescheduling or abbreviated service.

6.   Liability, Indemnity & Risk

Owners agree to indemnify, defend, and hold Allsorts Pet Hub, its officers, employees, and agents harmless from any third-party claims, liability, loss, damage, cost, or expense arising from or related to these Terms and Conditions, the Grooming Session, or the Pet’s condition.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Allsorts Pet Hub’s total liability for any claim related to these Terms and Conditions or services shall not exceed the total amount paid by the Owner for the Grooming Session.

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. Any dispute arising under or related to these Terms and Conditions will be heard exclusively in the courts of Townsville, Queensland. If any provision is held invalid, the remaining provisions will remain in full force.

Owners acknowledge the inherent risks of pet grooming services, confirm that all information provided is complete and accurate, and accept that Allsorts Pet Hub cannot eliminate all risk of accidental injury or reaction.

7.   Satisfaction of Service

Owners must inspect their pet and the completed grooming service at pickup. Any concerns about the quality or completeness of the service must be raised to Allsorts Pet Hub staff on-site before departure or sent via email within 24 hours of service completion.

Allsorts Pet Hub will use its best efforts to address and correct valid concerns within 48 hours at no additional charge, subject to appointment availability. Concerns reported after the 24-hour deadline may incur additional fees or may not be eligible for complimentary adjustments.

8.   Social Media

Owners consent to Allsorts Pet Hub taking images or recordings of their pet (the “Images”) to be used as part of our grooming services. Owners understand and agree that Allsorts Pet Hub owns all intellectual property rights, including but not limited to copyright, in the Images. Owners grant Allsorts Pet Hub the perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free right to reproduce, distribute, display, and otherwise use the Images in any medium without further approval or compensation. Owners may opt out by checking the Photo Opt-Out box at booking.
